Know your Acupuncturist

Practitioners whose education focus is in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine receive approximately 80% of their training in this field and undergo an extensive clinical internship averaging 3 years. Other healthcare practitioners may use acupuncture, which is one of the many therapies of Oriental Medicine, as an adjunct to their primary practice. While all of these practitioners also have training in western medical sciences, this chart is designed to illustrate the caring levels of acupuncture training generally undertaken by healthcare professionals.

Testimonial

“As a medical student... I did not think that western-style medicine would fail me. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I recently learned that 7 months of pain in my lower back was due to a herniated disc. I spent a lot of time at doctors offices trying to come up with a pain management plan that would work for me while in medical school. No plan seemed feasible. I heard about Ted Block Acupuncture from a friend and was hesitant at first. However, I was planning a long flight in a few weeks and could not imagine sitting still for any period of time, so I was willing to give it a shot. Ted explained his process focused around ying and yang—easing my pain through balancing my own body. After one session, I felt as if I could endure a flight all the way to Japan! My back felt much better and as if that wasn’t enough to be grateful for Ted showed me different stretching exercises to relieve pain should it arise while I was away at school.”
