The stretching cat is the purrfect SOTAI machine.
The Balance and Strength exhibited by the common pussycat clearly shows how the combination of breath and motion which IS SOTAI.
Sotai , or better described, Sotaiho, “ the way “ of breathing, moving, eating, and thinking. Very Taoist in its nature strives to take the middle path to lead one to health and happiness. This gentle art is the basis of all of my treatments. Simply put , the moving away from pain will unwind the muscles, oxygenate the body and blood, focus the mind, and get results FASTER with less.

Picking wild flowers isn’t always a simple pleasure.
I am under the belief that there is always a “liver” component with any allergy. There is the obvious connection of lungs with the allergies, but underlying and much more involved is the aspect of liver. Ever notice that the two most affected areas with most allergies are the nose and the eyes ? Is it just a coincidence that the lungs open to the nose and the liver opens to the eyes ? Also, most allergies appear in the spring and the fall….. liver is dominant in the spring, and the lungs are most dominant in the fall…. interesting. As I practice I have noticed that when treating the liver, allergies and their symptoms improve dramatically.

red with embarrassment, green with envy, white with fright, grey death
Total balance is only a goal, a guideline, an idea. Actually total balance only happens upon decomposition after death. When nothing is moving there is total balance.

This Summer I completed an intensified course on Acupuncture with fertility being the main thrust of study. Courses were taught by two well known acupuncturists who are considered to be TOPS in the field. A great deal of efforts were devoted to herbs as the key, but I tried to apply the study to the principles of why a specific herb would be used and then apply it to the way that my acupuncture treatments are structured. I can confidently say that the results that my patients have experienced have be superior to the averages of many who were in the classes with me. (OK so i pat myself on the back a little, but Hey, I can ! )
I realized that I really enjoy this type of work ALOT !!!
There is nothing like the joy you can achieve when bringing joy to others !!
Soooooo, I am going to gear most of my practice to the issues relating to women ! Such a change when I went into acupuncture thinking only of how it can help sports related injuries heal faster, but I’ll save those stories for another time !

MOXABUSTION, the age old practice of burning moxa on points to optimize the bodies functions. in this particular case we, the patient and myself, are building up the white blood cell count.
Moxabustion is an essential part of my practice. The burning moxa has extraordinary healing properties. Moxa is the plant mugwart. It is cleaned and used in a variety of patient conditions. Sometimes it is burned on top of a needle. Sometimes its burned directly on the skin. Sometimes it’s burned near a point, or used to warm an area of the body. The burning herm has a unique aroma, so please be careful not to wear clothing that retains the smoke, you will get second looks from many near to you!

Acupuncture is getting a lot of good press lately, and justifiably so. More people are asking for it to be covered under their insurance and more insurers are just now discovering that acupuncture saves them money…
It really feels good when you open the New York Times and see an article featuring acupuncture. When y0u first read the article you are pleased that the writer is relating a personal experience. I am not bothered when inaccuracies are present because I know that the average person reading is just interested in wether it worked or not and how much pain is involved.
I noticed that there seem to be more instances of MD’s advocating acupuncture for many issues in a sort of guarded very carefully worded statements, but again , I just enjoy the publicity. I remember a very famous quote from a long time ago, “Any press is Good “ or was that about ACUPRESSURE….
